Joe Coleman is the lead singer for the world-renowned vocal group, The Platters.  He is a published songwriter, an actor and a dynamic performer.  Singing is his first love and his greatest passion.

Born in Clover, Virginia, the son of Baptist ministers Joseph & Effie Coleman, Joe Coleman moved to Washington, DC at the age of 5.  He received his early musical training in the church choir, which was formed and directed by his mother. Thus began his musical journey, a journey that would lead all across the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Joe Coleman has performed with Barbra Streisand on her finale tour; he has been featured on the Today Show with Katie Couric; he has appeared on the Regis & Kelly Show and has performed with some of the greatest performers in the business.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Joe Coleman is currently writing a musical entitled, “The Height of Excellence” about the life of Dr. Dorothy I. Height the great civil rights leader.  As part of this process, he has written and orchestrated 21 songs for the production.  The musical will open in Las Vegas at the Aladdin Hotel in July 2004.

Joe Coleman loves to sing…loves to act…loves to perform. He continues to pursue new challenges in the industry he respects so much.  There are more mountains to climb, more worlds to conquer, so much more to see and do!  Joe Coleman is fully prepared to meet that challenge.  Praise God!
